How to spot a vehicle transport scam:

Always verify the seller's identity:

Ensure the name of the seller matches the title and registration of the vehicle. Cross-check this with other forms of identity such as a driver's license.

Be cautious of seller's with pre-arranged vehicle transport:

Scams often fake or impersonate vehicle transport companies in order to appear legitimate. Ensure that if you require vehicle transport, you are the one to arrange it.

Ask for clear proof that the vehicle exists:

Ask for a walkaround video and include things for the seller to do during recording with the vehicle in the background. Speaking your name, the date and time, showing the VIN are great options.

Use secure payment methods:

Secure payment methods protect your money until the vehicle is inspected or delivered. Never directly transfer money to a business that the seller recommends or suggests. Often they are impersonating that business on the other side.

Avoid deals that seem too good to be true:

Extremely low prices, or included vehicle transport are often common red flags for scams.
